Printing with a Gelli plate is an intriguing process that results in beautiful one-of-a-kind papers with amazing colors, layers and textures. Pulling prints is simply so exciting and fun, with a wide variety of methods to mix and match. Experiment with traditional monotype techniques of additive, subtractive, masks and stencils. Gather textures and stamps to press into the inked plate for added interest. Instructor: Kathy Klompas

You will make many, many prints. It’s such an adrenaline rush to pull each print off the plate! The results are even more dramatic when adding a second or third layer to a print. We will play with a variety of acrylic paints, stencils, textures and mark-making tools. We can print on a variety of papers and cloth. You may complete ready to frame prints, and definitely will go home with a stash of fascinating unique to you papers to inspire future mixed-media works.
Bonus for this class! Print also on fusible interfacing that can be ironed on to a totebag , T-shirt, apron or Jacket. Bring an item you would like to decorate. Note: a cotton item will work best, can not be plastic or vinyl! ENROLL: firstname.lastname@example.org
