AND THE SONG SAILED OVER THE SEA
Traditional Music, Ballad, and Story at The First Reformed Church
September 18th, 4:00 PM

Ann Carter-Cox and the ensemble, Sky Dance, perform songs and stories from the British Isles and Appalachia -- from lonesome love songs sung to the mountain dulcimer and viola da gamba to rolicking reels and jigs played by banjo, piano, concertina, pennywhistle and guitar. Two Robin Hood stories will also be told with accompanying music. A reception with the musicians will follow the concert.

General admission: September 18th, 3:00 PM

Saturday, May 21, Pre-performance jazz talk at 7 PM, Performance at 8 PM

The Jazz one2one Series was designed to showcase exceptional jazz artists in intimate settings and to provide an outlet for musician/composers to present new and adventurous music as well as innovative interpretations of jazz classics. The concert will include a pre-performance "Jazz Talk" and a post-performance "Meet the Artist" reception. 

This series is a collaboration between the Athens Cultural Center and Planet Arts and is supported in part by The New York State Council on the Arts and the Greene County CIP Program administered by the Greene County Council on the Arts.

Date and Time: Saturday May 21st
7:00 PM: Pre-performance "Jazz Talk"
8:00 PM: Performance

General admission: $ 10.00.
