Slow Flow Yoga
Fall session starts October 8th
Saturdays, 9:30 - 10:45 AM

Slow flow yoga is a small, intimate class where postures are introduced and explored in a slow vinyasa format, with the poses being connected through the breath. Classes build endurance, flexibility, and strength. A basic knowledge of yoga practice is recommended. Please bring your own mat. A few mats will be available for general use. The class will start on October 8th and be on-going subject to minimum enrollment.

Instructor Jolanta Slepska completed the 200-hour teacher training at Satya Yoga Center in Rhinebeck in 2009 and currently continues her study with Leslie Kaminoff, the Yoga Educator of The Breathing Project (NYC). Her classes focus on a vigorous blend of asana practice with particular attention to breath and alignment.

Class fee: $5 suggested donation; registration not required

FREE ORIGAMI WORKSHOP FOR FAMILIES
with children 7 and older
Saturdays, November 12th & December 3rd 9:30 AM ‐ 12:30 PM (register for one or both workshops)

These three-hour workshops will explore folding folding simple to intermediate models, including the cup, balloon, sailboat, starbox, crane (bird) the origami lily and more. Bring your own dollar bill and we'll also make a dollar bill origami t-shirt.

Instructor: Ruby Silvious has been folding paper since she was five. Early influences include her Japanese great grandmother who taught her how to fold her first crane (bird). She now specializes in making traditional origami models into unique art forms. Ruby is a painter, printmaker and graphic designer whose award winning art was recently exhibited in Albany and Greene counties. She lives in Coxsackie with her husband and son. ANIMAL PORTRAIT PAINTING CLASS FOR ADULTS
Six-Week Class with Instructor Robert Lahm
Tuesdays, November 15th through December 20th
6:00 -9:00 PM

This is a unique opportunity for artists to paint portraits of favorite pets, backyard wildlife or wildlife. Students should bring clippings or photographs to work from.

PORTRAIT DRAWING CLASS
Instructor: Robert Lahm
Tuesdays, January 11th through March 1st, 2011 (Eight Classes) 6PM to 9PM

Classes meet each week at the Athens Cultural Center, on Second Street, Athens. The goal of this class is to achieve an understanding of the art of "catching a likeness" in portraiture. Students will work from a live portrait model in charcoal on paper.

May 17th through June 21st Tuesdays, 6:00 - 9:00 PM 6PM to 9PM

This class is for beginner, intermediate and advanced students who are interested in studying traditional methods of painting. This course is designed to accommodate student interest in technique and painting mediums including Oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel or pencil. Weather permitting; landscape painting will be explored outdoors.

Ten-Week Class with Instructor Robert Lahm
July 5th through September 6th Tuesdays, 5:30 - 8:30 PM

This class is for beginner, intermediate and advanced students who are interested in studying traditional methods of painting and exploring landscape techniques utilized by Hudson River School painters. Students are welcome to work in oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, or pencil.
