PAPERING THE TOWN
Historic Wallpaper from the Michael Levinson Collection
An installation of historic wallpaper from the 18th, 19th and 20th
centuries, showing the breadth and diversity of a medium often
considered to be in the background. Installed by Geoff Howel
Studios, the installation is as much a part of the exhibition as is the
wallpaper itself. Experience wallpaper as never before and see if
you othink Oscar Wilde’s death bed exhortation is still true.
Opening reception:
Saturday, June 13th, 6-8 PM
Schedule:
June 6th through July 19th, Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 4 PM.

HUDSON’S VALLEY AT 400: PARADISE OR
PARADISE LOST?
As far back as the 1830’s in “The Oxbow,” Thomas Cole limned the
antagonism he felt between retreating wilderness and advancing
civilization, resolving his feelings only with a question mark. Even
today while we are grateful for lands forever wild in the valley,
the proximity of the great metropolis presses ever closer: will we be
able to maintain the delicate balance between the wrought world and the
natural world here, or are we already past the tipping point? This
juried show juxtaposes modern landscapists and art of social
commentary, and hopes to illuminate the palpable tension between
wilderness and cultivation that charges this place with the flow of its
vital current.
Opening Reception:
Saturday October 3rd, 6 to 8 pm

October 3rd through November 1st, Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 4pm
